NJFC SAYS GOODBYE and GOOD LUCK TO MIKE DiROCCO
It is with deep regret that NJFC has accepted Mike DiRocco’s resignation. Mike, Associate Director of Government Affairs, has been with the NJFC for over three years and has become a critical component of our success. However, as is the case with most successful people, Mike has been presented with a great opportunity in the pharmaceutical industry which he has chosen to pursue. Mike will be leaving NJFC October 3rd and we wish him the best in his new endeavor.

STATE SENATOR JOE DORIA TO HEAD DEPARTMENT of COMMUNITY AFFAIRS
Senator Doria will resign both his Senate and mayoral positions to become the new Commissioner of Community Affairs on October 9, 2007. The Commissioner’s job has been vacant since Susan Bass-Levin left the spot to become deputy executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The Department employs over 1,100 people and administers over $1.5 billion in state and federal aid to local and county governments within New Jersey.

Senator Doria has been in the Legislature since 1980 when he was first elected to the General Assembly from Hudson County. He served as Speaker in 1991 and 1992. He was then appointed to fill the term of the late Senator Cunningham before being elected in his own right in 2004.

LAST CALL TO JOIN AGGREGATION GROUP FOR ENERGY SAVINGS
Energy Procurement Partners (EPP), the energy consultant to NJFC, has been working to put together an electricity supply aggregation for the membership. At this point, EPP has received indicative fixed pricing from interested electricity suppliers designed to provide price stability to NJFC Members over a short term or long term period.

There is still an opportunity for food retail and associate supplier members to join the Aggregation and become actively involved in discussions with electricity suppliers in an effort to manage future electricity costs.

The NJFC Aggregation Committee will meet and begin working closely with electricity suppliers to review proposals and assess potential cost savings. NJFC encourages members interested in Energy Aggregation to contact NJFC or Jim O’Hern of Energy Procurement Partners before it is too late! Jim can be reached at 917-974-4693.
