BE HEARD ON ELECTION DAY VOTE ON TUESDAY
Next Tuesday, November 6, New Jersey voters will head to the polls to elect all 120 seats to the State Legislature. This years election will see the largest turnover of seats since the Watergate Era of the early 1970s as many legislators are retiring due to health or indictment or seeking advancement into the State Senate.
The Food Council Committee for Good Government (FCCfGG), the political action arm of the New Jersey Food Council, announced its endorsements of candidates seeking election to the State Legislature.
The FCCfGG selected 35 Republican candidates and 18 Democratic candidates for endorsement for election to the General Assembly and State Senate in the November election. The Committee used a variety of criteria in its selection process including voting records, leadership positions, committee memberships, accessibility, responsiveness to concerns of the food industry and positions on key legislation.
We remind our members to get to the polls and exercise their right to vote on Tuesday!

US ATTORNEY CHRIS CHRISTIE HOLDS TOWN HALL MEETING AT NJFC LOSS PREVENTION CONFERENCE With next weeks General Election, the timing was appropriate as U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Christopher Christie addressed the NJFC Loss Prevention Conference during the featured Town Hall Meeting earlier this week. Chris Christie addressed public corruption issues and the culture of lost integrity and character in government, he discussed prosecution of organized retail theft rings, the proliferation of gangs and white collar crime issues with attendees.
Conference highlights included the Loss Prevention Leadership Awards presented to Barry Elliott, Food Circus Supermarkets and Mark Morro, Staples, Inc. and a vendor fair that showcased the latest in Loss Prevention security systems, services and products. Kudos to NJFC Event Coordinator Anne Lorraine Sweeney for a job well done. NJFC sends a special thanks to Conference Chair Tina Pilate of Wegmans and the entire Planning Committee for their help in organizing another meaningful Loss Prevention Conference.
